My Honey Spice Peach Hand Pies with Buttery Amaretto Glaze are a spin off of the traditional crescent shaped hand pies that are filled with savory or sweet pie filling.
Using already pie crust that has been rolled out and flattened slightly, I cut the round shaped dough into 4 triangle sections. By placing your own or a ready-made filling towards one side of each section and simply folding over and crimping, you can create a delicious hand pie that everyone will love with a lot less fuss.
Summer with its abundance of fresh berries and stone fruits is the perfect time to make hand pies. I just made a batch with fresh peaches and added a bit of spice with a light touch of basil. You can adjust the amount of honey depending on how sweet your peaches are. I chose to make a not too sweet filling because I added a buttery sweet glaze on top. These easy to make hand pies were a big hit with the family and I will definitely be making more.
