Summer Lobster Salad Roll
At last, it is time for a great summer tradition as you may already know, it is Lobster Salad Roll season. For some people, the perfect lobster salad roll does spark a bit of a debate, as to which is the best way to prepare this classic favorite. Of course, like most iconic foods, your preference most likely comes from the influences of your past.
The Great Lobster Roll Competition
Undoubtedly, if you love lobster rolls, you more than likely have a loyalty to either Team Maine or Team Connecticut. Similarly, they both contain fresh lobster, usually including a mix of tail, claw and knuckle meat. The Maine version, is generally tossed with mayo and the Connecticut version is dressed with warm melted butter. However, both are served in a toasted, top-loaded hot dog bun.
Lots a “Lobstah” (the correct pronunciation according to Urban Dictionary)
Growing up on Long Island, I can recall taking summer car trips to what my family referred to as “going out East”. In most cases, that meant a day on the beach as well as a casual meal out. Above all, a favorite spot in Amagansett, NY, called The Lobster Roll AKA Lunch https://lobsterroll.com/ was the place to go. At this roadside restaurant, I would always, without a doubt, order the classic Lobster Salad Roll. Lobster meat, mayo and maybe a tiny bit of celery on a toasted hot dog bun and a side of fries. Unquestionably delicious!

In short, when I am reminiscing and feeling nostalgic about my childhood summers and the days of sitting on a picnic table, wearing flip flops and leftover sand from the beach, I make my own version of the yummy lobster salad roll.
